Snake City, a new game, has come from the network that brought Crabada. After moving from the Avalanche C-Chain to the Swimmer Network, the project experienced a disparity of users, dropping from 2,500 holders to 33. The number of daily transactions for their SNCT and TOC tokens also decreased. Yet, with the play-to-earn industry booming, it is possible to see those numbers change in the future. So, what exactly is Snake City? Today’s blog will dive into the subnet’s gameplay, game economy, tokenomics, and team to offer our readers a high-level overview of the project.

Gameplay

The gameplay consists of five modes: training, Freezone, the battle arena, tournament, and discovery mode.

  • Training mode: Here, players can engage in challenges ranging from “easy” to “super” on the difficulty scale. They can also practice with bots and earn rewards as $TOC tokens. The more complex the challenge, the more rewards and experience points participants can receive.
  • Freezone: The purpose of this mode is to remove all financial obstacles for users to play the game. In the Freezone, players do not invest or make purchases but instead use their skills to kill other snakes and accumulate as many points as possible to top the leaderboard. Although free-to-play, an allocated rewards pool was designed exclusively for Freezone mode.
  • Battle Arena: In the Battle Arena, players control pit their “Snake Hero” against other players to win in-game rewards. Each Snake has a default of two free turns and the option to buy one more turn per day with the $TOC token.
  • Tournament: In this mode, each player buys a ticket and receives one slot in the game. Most of the fee from participation will reward the top three players in the ranking board, and users have skin in the game to play against each other.
  • Discovery Mode: Players use their Snakes to discover the city maps containing many local, famous places to collect NFT shards. They can redeem high-value NFTs. Players have to stake $TOC to receive a ticket. When the event starts, tickets are randomly selected, and players must stake their tokens for a few days before the event occurs.

Game Economy

The economy centers around obtaining an egg. This egg is an NFT that will hatch and become a fierce baby snake that battles with other players. An egg will take five days to hatch after minting. Hatching is one of many options. Players can also buy Snake Heroes from the Marketplace.

Each snake has a “class.” In the game’s “research laboratory,” differences in temperature and unique ingredients can cause some snakes to be stronger than others. Aside from standard “City Snakes,” there are “special snakes” created in the laboratory through genetic modification. These genetically modified characters are called “Snake Lords;” they are mightier and pack more benefits for players.

Aside from the snake NFTs, the game provides various in-game NFTs that can enhance their snakes’ strength. Snake owners can also decorate their NFTs with colorful skins purchased from the Marketplace.

Tokenomics

Snake City comprises two tokens: the Snake City Token (SNCT) and the Treasury of the City Token (TOC). Here’s a breakdown of each:

  • SNCT- The SNCT token governs the game’s ecosystem and has a total supply of 1 billion. The token allows players to buy eggs and NFTs in the marketplace, reward players for engaging in Arena Battle Mode, and reward token holders for staking.
  • TOC- This token does not have a max supply. It enables players to buy more turns in Arena Battle Mode, purchase tickets to play games in Tournament Mode, and buy in-game NFT items (i.e., energy stones and skins). Players can also use this token to reward players for training and breeding.

Team

As their website proclaims, the founding team comprises a group of ex-colleagues and friends with multiple years of blockchain industry experience. Some notable team members include

  • CEO Daniel Phan: Daniel has substantial experience in both IT and software sales. He was the Director at NTQ Solution JSC and Business Development Manager at ITO.
